Founded in 1897, the Vevey Historical Museum is located in the halls of the Castle of Vevey. Once known as the "beautiful house", the 16th century estate was the residence of the Bernese bailiffs.
Objects, documents and visual images are arranged in such a way that they preserve the character of the building.
Vaud and Swiss furniture, handicrafts, old weapons, medal collections, manuscripts, engravings and paintings of minor Swiss masters form the heart of the permanent exhibition, which also features a unique collection of keys, locks and old, quite remarkable caskets.
