The Museum is closed for transformation works until Spring 2013.

Geneva, birthplace of the Red Cross, has the only museum dedicated to the work of Henry Dunant. The museum was opened in 1988 and is opposite the Völkerbundpalast (League of Nations Palace). The museum was completely renovated in 2013.

Emotion, discovery, reflection; the museum offers a unique introduction to humanitarian efforts. The new permanent exhibition “Humanitarian Adventure” is divided into three thematic rooms, designed by internationally renowned architects. The topics are taken from different cultural contexts: Protection of Human Dignity (Gringo Cardia, Brasil), Femily reunification (Diébédo Francis Kere, Burkina Faso) and Protection from Natural Dangers (Shigeru Ban, Japan).
