The Aargau Kunsthaus (Art Museum) has one of the finest and most comprehensive public collections of Swiss art from the 18th century to the present. The Kunsthaus has several temporary exhibitions each year, primarily devoted to contemporary art in Switzerland and abroad. The building was extended in 2003 by the Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron.
