The "La Thomasia" Alpine garden provides an entrance to the reserve and the plants benefit from extremely favourable climatic conditions. Since its creation in 1891 by the Bex Development Society, the garden has kept adding to its collection. Over a surface of approximately 1 hectare, more than 70 artificial rocks, streams, ponds, peat bogs and a marsh have helped rare and spectacular plants thrive in this environment, which is sometimes extremely different to their natural environments.
