The rye that is still grown on the terraces of Erschmatt, a mountain-top village above Leuk, is still ground into flour in the village mill and the flour then used to make traditional Valaisan rye bread. Those interested can sign up for a day in the bakery and there help knead the dough and bake the bread. The day ends with a story-telling session at which guests are served up both ancient Valaisan ghost stories and some examples of traditional Valaisan cuisine. An experience for the whole family!
