There is a nature trail that shows visitors moors, tree-less granite hilltops, dense forests, chestnut groves and other fascinating glimpses of nature. The entire hike takes about 3 1/2 hours and comes back to the starting point. It starts off in Losone and follows the base of the Collina di Maia. Along the way, it tells you many interesting details such as why the American imported Weymouth pine grows well here, that previously farmers planted rye here, and which parts of the landscape were formed by glaciers.
