Description

Richly illustrated panels teach children and adults about the earth's history, the Schwägalp's 1000-year tradition as grazing country, tourism, nature conservation and much more besides.

Moors theme trail: the Schwägalp is located amid moorland that is included in the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites (ISOS). A high walkway leads into the heart of the mysterious moors with their rare plants and animals. The 7 information panels along the walk (just under 2km) focus on biodiversity, fauna and flora, special cultivation practices and the impressive size of the Schwägalp moorlands.

The Moors trail also imparts valuable information about the development of moors: from the Ice Age to the first upland moors in the Alps and Pre-Alps.
