They sniff around a bit and will not give up until they have found what they are looking for. Often only avalanche rescue dogs are able to find people, who have been buried in the snow, and to pull them out of the snow mass alive.
To watch these animals is an impressive event. You will have an opportunity to watch the experienced dogs demonstrate their skill. And their keepers will let you know what it takes to prepare the dogs for an emergency.
