Home-made "Nidelzeltli" (soft caramels) were already a cherished sweet in 1839, the year in which the company Tanner 212 was founded. Even today, this Appenzell speciality, which continues to be made by hand to an old recipe, is still very much enjoyed by young and old connoisseurs alike.
