The Bénichon is a traditional Fribourg festival that was originally a form of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest, but today it is much more like a fair. That doesn’t stop visitors tucking in with a vengeance, particularly when the “bracelets Bénichon” (a little like biscuity waffles) are served up as a sweet.
