Nature Sports – Nature Protection

Sports activities and nature conservancy are not always and everywhere reconcilable. Conflicts arise frequently: Climbing activities during the breeding times of the peregrine falcon and the eagle owl, or paragliding in areas where chamois make their home, are disturbing influences in pristine nature.

Only when we as individuals move in nature with care and consideration, do we have a chance to safeguard free access to nature now and in the future! If we as climbers want to enjoy free access to the mountains and climbing rocks, we have to actively grapple with these contentious issues. The Alpine biosphere is rich and varied. Many plants and animals are specialized in one narrow area of life and are very sensitive to disturbances. If we are considerate and careful, we help to keep this living space intact.
