From Bad Ragaz the hiking trail takes you into the depth of the Tamina Gorge. Old Bad Pfäfers was extensively renovated between 1983 and 1995. It includes a monastery and spa museum, which offers changing exhibitions. The entrance to the Tamina Gorge is only a few meters away; here visitors experience the immense power of water up close. Continue via a natural bridge to Pfäfers and return to Bad Ragaz along historic paths (Porta Romana) and past the Wartenstein Ruin.
If you prefer, you can take the Gorge Bus or a horse-drawn carriage at Bad Ragaz. Both take you into the Tamina Gorge, up to Old Bad Pfäfers. This way the hike is shortened by about an hour. The hiking tour is also possible in the opposite direction, in which case the route can be started at Dorf Pfäfers (Pfäfers is easily reached from Bad Ragaz by PostBus).
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
