Lenzburg Castle – Knight and Dragon Castle Schloss
Lenzburg is one of the Switzerland’s oldest and most important mountaintop castles. Powerful counts, bailiffs and private owners lived in these castles. In its 900-year history the castle has been constantly enlarged and reconstructed for new purposes. In the history studio three themed trails give background information on selected knights, judges and rascals, who once upon a time were active at Lenzburg Castle.
Schloss Wildegg – Baroque castle domain and garden paradise
The castle, which is today surrounded by gardens, pastures and vineyards, was built around 1200 by the Habsburgs. For eleven generations the castle and all its goods was the property of the Effinger family. The castle domain includes 100 hectares of land, 37 buildings, gardens, an eco-farm, vineyards, forests as well as fishing rights. As the seasons pass the gardens are a constant feast for the eyes and an oasis of scents.

The historic building from the 11th Century is one of Switzerland’s most important moated castles. The von Hallwyl family, minor aristocracy from the Aargau, has distinguished itself in its 800-year history in many ways. On a tour through the rooms of the castle, visitors explore the medieval and modern worlds. Eleven topics deal with these themes.

The double castle founded in 1030 is the eponymous ancestral home of the Habsburgs. After their extraordinary ascent in the Late Middle Ages, the Habsburgs ruled an empire with large possessions in Europe and colonies in America, Asia and Africa. Their seven-hundred-year rule can be attributed not least to their clever marriage politics. The small exhibit documents the construction and settlement history and gives insight into castle life.
Königsfelden Monastery – Remembering the Habsburg
For the salvation of the deceased Habsburgs, two queens established a Poor Clare and Franciscan monastery in "Campus Regius". Seven hundred years ago, this building opened up a new, groundbreaking chapter in the history of the Aargau and Switzerland. The monastery possesses in its choir eleven stained glass windows created between 1320 and 1360, which are counted among the outstanding works of European glass painting from that period.
Legionnaire's Path – Roman Adventure Park
On the Legionnaire’s Path in Windisch visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating history of Switzerland’s only Roman Legionnaire’s camp. Many of the sites are not visible from the outside, but they are exclusively accessible to guests visiting the Legionnaire’s Path and the splendor of its modern recreations.
