Description
Thousands of years ago there was a landslide in Graubünden of unimaginable proportions – 12 cubic kilometres of rock thundered down from the Flimserstein and into the depths. Over time, the Rhine River formed a new bed through the rubble and this created the Ruinaulta. This amazing gorge has remained virtually untouched to this day. As you stand on the spectacular Il Spir viewing platform at Conn you will marvel at the breathtaking views of the natural wonder below. This bold structure, located on a beautiful winter hiking trail, seems to swing elegantly out into the abyss. The route is mainly level with some sections tending slightly downwards. Start at the Flims/Waldhaus post bus stop and continue via Conn and on to Trin Mulin. Catch the post bus back from here. Most of this route takes you through idyllic and to some extent park-like pine forests. The trail passes two scenic, frozen lakes, the Lag la Cauma and the Lag la Cresta.
