Description
There is a whole network of winter trails that provides access to the Lenzerheide High Valley. The Tgantieni high-altitude trail is considered to be the top route. It runs along the western slope above the village and is bathed in the sun before the morning is over. It is best to use the Tgantieni chairlift to reach the starting point for your hike. The valley station is only a short walk from the village via the Penasch quarter. At the mountain station you will be utterly captivated by the magnificent panorama – the chain of peaks on the opposite side of the valley is dominated by the Parpaner Rothorn while to the south your gaze will linger on the view to the peaks of the Albula valley and Oberhalbstein. The trail is almost level as it continues along the side of Piz Scalottas and Danis to Spoina. With all the exercise in the cold winter air you are sure to get hungry and you will be delighted to find several mountain restaurants lining the trail. Your descent into the valley will take you through snowy forests and across the ski area. Finish up by following the Voa Sporz road back to the village centre.
