Breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier

Fiescheralp - Riederalp

The mountain walk from the Fiescheralp via the Märjelensee to the Moosfluh leads through a mountain landscape like no other. It was with good reason that the Aletsch area became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.

Description

At the heart of the protected area, which extends from the Jungfrau to the Bietschhorn, stands the 24 km long and up to 900 m thick Aletsch Glacier, of course. The landscape around the glacier is bare and bleak, yet with a certain beauty of its own. The mountains in the Aletsch area reach heights of over 4000 m.

Fiescheralp - Tunnel - Märjela - Märjelensee - Moosfluh

The starting point for the walk is in Fiesch. From there you go by cable-car up to the Fiescheralp. From the Fiescheralp the path goes first up to the Märjelensee, with wonderful views. Then a stunning path alongside the glacier takes you on towards Riederalp. From the Moosfluh you then go down with the cable-car to the Riederalp. A second cable-car takes you to Mörel, and from there you can go back to Fiesch by train. You can buy a round-trip ticket for the whole tour.
