Description
This mountain hike begins in Engelberg, famous for its monastery. The first few kilometers towards the Surenen Pass follow the the Alpine Pass Route. Take the Fürenalp aerial cable-car from the valley station. Now you will have reached a beautiful high alpine hiking trail where the hike rejoins with the Alpine Pass Route. Here is also the turning point of the hike since from here on, it is all downhill. Pass the alpine hut near Stäfeli. Once at the Alpenrösli, you will have reached the valley station of the Fürenalp aerial cable-car. Another hour's worth of hiking will bring you straight to Engelberg.
