Description
Gspon – Visperterminen
The wine grown here is just as special as the location. The wine-growers of Visperterminen cultivate a Tramin grape, which is pressed into the Heida wine.
If you want to study the grape-vine in-depth, you can visit the wine cellar for a wine-tasting session or discover more about the cultivation of the grape and wine-production on a wine-studies hiking trail. A particularly impressive wine experience is offered by the yearly "Wii-Grill-Fäscht" on the first Saturday in September.
Variation on the described tour or sequel: ridge path high above Saas Valley
The hike from Gspon to Saas Grund is one of the most popular hikes in the Saas Valley. It is part of the "Great Walser Trail" ("Grosser Walserweg"). High above the ravine of Saas Vispa the route runs for the most part a short distance above the tree-line and offers stunning views of the Valais and the Bernese High Alps. The sublime view of the glaciated four thousand meter peaks of the Mischabel Group is the tour's highlight.
