Description
Wonderful stretches through extensive woodlands characterize this hike. Further down the river, the valley opens up, and the Lorze runs towards Lake Zug in a wide curve. About halfway there the fairytale world of the Höllgrotten caves is a wonderful attraction to visit.
The start of this hiking tour is at the ZVB station in Unterägeri. Following the main road in the direction of Zug you will reach the "Schmittli". From here, the trail leads you towards Baar. The route now leaves the road and descends to the wooded valley. The murmuring of the brook accompanies you all the while. At first following the wide trail, then turning into the narrow path which leads through a region rich with myths, you will reach the town of Baar. Always hiking by the riverside, you will finally reach Lake Zug. From here the Zug train station is only a stone's throw away.
Recommended: A tour of this train station, it's an architectural masterpiece, opened in 2003!
