Around Lake Hallwil to the Moated Castle

Do you want to enjoy the highlight at the beginning or save it for the end of the tour? The starting point for hikes around the largely untouched Lake Hallwil is the moated castle, which is surrounded by the waters of the Aabach. If the drawbridge is down, a visit is a “must”. Shortly before the end of the tour a reconstructed lake dwelling reaches even deeper into the past.

Description

The hiking trail skirts the lakeshore, with one exception: The last four kilometers before the destination are a protected area. There is a detour to the south. En route you will find plenty of opportunities to stop for a repast. Piers in Tennwil, at the Delphine, the Seerose, in Mosen, Beinwil and Birrwil offer the opportunity to shorten the 20-kilometer hiking tour. Lidos in Beinwil, Birrwil, Tennwil, in Brestenberg, and at the Seerose invite you to take a dip in the refreshing lake.
