Description

Below the tree line, the land is covered with beautiful pine forests. Higher up, you keep getting magnificent views of all kinds of rock formation. These mountain rocks range in colour from chalk white and rusty red through to anthracite grey. Shortly after you enter the National Park itself, the mighty Bernina range towers up on the southern horizon. In the foreground can be seen the Lago di Livigno. The descent leads over the Alp la Schera and back into the main valley of the Ofenpass road to Il Fuorn.

Ofenpass (Süsom Givé) - Alp Buffalora - Alp La Schera - Il Fuorn

The first part of the tour leads from the Ofenpass down to the Alp Buffalora, and then up you go to the entrance to the National Park, with lovely views on all sides. This part of the park is treeless and bare. A narrow path then runs down to the Alp La Schera. This is the only stopping place on the walk. In this restricted area, you must never leave the footpath. A steep and in places quite tricky path then leads down to Il Fuorn.
