Planetary Trail high above the Val d’Anniviers

St-Luc

How about hiking from the Sun to Pluto? It’s an interesting idea. And in the mountains above the Val d’Anniviers a perfectly feasible proposition all year round. The Chemin des Planètes begins at the station in Tignousa and leads up to the Hôtel Weisshorn. With scale models of the planets positioned at the correct intervals all along the wayside, hikers can look forward to a virtual tour of the Solar System. And the magnificent panoramic views take on almost celestial dimensions too, with not just one, but several 4000-m-high peaks vying for the viewer’s attention. The picturesque village of St-Luc, meanwhile, can be seen far below, nestling against the steep side of the Val d’Anniviers. Fantastic!
