Description

The holiday village of Les Paccots in the Fribourg pre-Alps is popular as a family ski resort in the winter. However, the area is also home to solitary winter landscapes. This winter hike to Guedères will take you away from the ski slopes and through peaceful pine forests and across snowy meadows. There are comfortable restaurants serving local specialities at both the start and the end of the route. This groomed winter trail starts at the Les Rosalys/place bus station. From the nearby Les Rosalys restaurant climb through the forest towards Les Vérollys and arrive at the valley station for the ski lifts in the Le Lac des Joncs area. Off the beaten trail now, you continue on an almost level path to Les Crêtes. The panorama widens with every step and between the peaks of the Fribourg Alps you will spot surprising vistas of Mont Blanc. Your destination is the Guedères mountain hut, now in deep hibernation. From there, you return to Les Rosalys along the same route.
