Description
Soak up plenty of sunshine even on short winter days while hiking on the Col de la Croix towards the Golf Club. Starting at the Villars-sur-Ollon station, you pass through the village centre before following the road to Col de la Croix. The mountain pass is closed in winter to motorised traffic. The trail slopes gently upwards and before long you enter a pristine winter wonderland while the mighty rocky bastion of the Diablerets massif rises up ahead of you. After passing the Buvette de la Verneyre mountain restaurant the route branches off from the pass road a little further up the valley and leads, now somewhat more steeply, to the snow-covered Villars golf course. Your destination is the Restaurant Golf Club House with its fantastic views of the mountain chain of the Valais and Savoy Alps. There you can take the cog railway from Villars-sur-Ollon Golf station back to Villars.
