Winter hike on the Rellerli with a delicious fondue thrown in

The idea behind the Fondue Trail along the Rellerligrat was to roll two pleasures into one: that of a tasty fondue and that of a magnificent mountain panorama. The equipment and wherewithal can be picked up at the cheese dairy in Schönried. After stocking up, simply take the cable car up to the Rellerligrat, where the superb views will enhance the pleasure of anticipation. The spectacular ridge-top hike will take you from the mountain station to the Hugeligrat and from there over to the little wooden hut where the spectacle is to take place. Here, you can dabble around in molten cheese with half the glorious Bernese Oberland spread out all before you. What more could one want? Those who want to enjoy this spectacle without the fondue can of course complete the whole tour on foot without stopping for sustenance.

Rellerli - Hugeligrat – fondue hut - Planihubel - Hugeligrat - Rellerli

At Rellerli cable car station, follow the winter hiking trail up to the Hugeligrat. There, continue on past the fondue hut and into a small depression, on the other side of which the trail climbs up to the Planihubel. Simply follow the tracks left by the trailblazer vehicle and you will find your way back to the Hugeligrat and from there back to Rellerli.
