Description
This small village and Erlach are part of the winegrowing region around Lake Biel. The sunny slopes of the Jolimonts present ideal conditions for viticulture. The view from Jolimont onto Erlach Castle and Peter’s Island behind it is magnificent. The terraced Old Town of Erlach nestles in the Schlossberg hill and is a fine photo opportunity.
At the Ins Station, follow the hiking trail leading to Tschugg. At Tschugg continue in the direction of Jolimont. At the top of the ascent hike to Tüfelsburdi. At Tüfelsburdi walk in the direction of Erlach. At the Erlachbänkli (Erlach bench) continue to Erlach. When you reach the castle walk to Erlach’s Old Town. At the main road turn right. Buses to Ins depart from the bus stop at Vinzelzstrasse (about 50 meters from the Post Office).
