Description
At the Rom Brook in the Münstertal Valley
At times the Rom traverses the Münstertal Valley as a meandering rivulet, at others as a rushing mountain brook, and then as a whitewater river flowing between gravel banks and pastures lined by woodlands. Thanks to the toughness and resistance of the inhabitants of this mountain valley, and the efforts of the environmental organizations, this mountain brook retained its temperament, special character and unfettered freedom. A multifaceted riverscape, it has flower-speckled meadows with orchids and shady undergrowth in the Fuldera plain, thick forests with alder, willow and ancient larch trees, and the edges of untouched woods, where wild roses and buckthorn set colorful accents. This hiking tour is constantly accompanied by the rushing sounds of the Rom and the view of the magnificent and tranquil mountains of Graubünden's high valley.
