Hike to the Niederriedersee

Besides the village of Ins, Kerzers, which is part of Canton Fribourg, may be called the capital of vegetable gardening. Hundreds of fields surround the town. Kerzers is the starting point for several bicycle and hiking trails that lead through the Grosse Moos.

Kerzers - Niederriedwerk - Golaten – Kerzers

However, the hike to the Niederried Lake takes you in the opposite direction. The damming of the Aare River created the lake, a protected nature preserve. A unique forest and a reed belt surround this nature paradise.
