This circular hike starts at Môtier on the shore of Lake Murten and continues almost on the level to Praz. Then, around Les Cutres vineyard, the path climbs to the edge of the forest but after that, there are no major uphill gradients on the return.
The short climb to the caves of La Lamberta is a "must": adults will also be fascinated by the 200-meter tunnel network excavated from the sandstone in 1916/17 to defend the Swiss Mittelland during World War I. Access is free.
Today, the former "Haut Vully" infantry fortification above Môtier is a wonderful children's play area. Young adventurers can explore every corner or play hide-and-seek for hours. There is a popular barbecue spot in front of the tunnels.
Walkers descend 80 m through the vineyards to Môtier, where a tasting in a wine cellar rounds the hike off nicely.
