Description
Starting point of the hiking tour is the historic Rütli Meadow, accessible by lake cruise ship. After a hike through the shady forest you will reach the Seelisberg vantage point, a well-known pilgrimage site and spa resort. The lake is at your feet. On the bank across the lake the town of Brunnen, with its myriad myths, is to be found.
On mule tracks and pilgrim paths, and past Beroldingen Castle, the trail descends to the lake shore. The first stage, Bauen, is reached after a pleasant 3-hour hike. On two subsequent stages of the hiking tour around the lake, you will reach Tell's Chapel with its historic frescoes dedicated to the story of William Tell, the legendary Swiss national hero.
