The hike is essentially a segment of the Alpine Pass Route. This begins in Sargans in Eastern Switzerland and connects to the other end of the country diagonally, winding up in Montreux, on Lake Geneva. Once at the mountain station of Braunwald descend slightly towards Nussbüel. From there, reach the Friteren via an ascent. Once on top, enjoy the panorama consisting of Mt. Clariden rising high above the Uri Plain. Once one reaches the stone marker, a historical landmark, one has also reached the bus stop. From here take the bus to Linthal.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
