This sculpture by artist Luciano Andreani is one of several sculptures that were created by different artists in the 80s.

The curious bronze statue was bought in 1986 for CHF 16,000 by the city of Bern and then placed on the station square until 2007. During the extensive renovations, the sculpture was kept in storage. At the request of the people of Bern and after consultation with Luciano Andreani, "Kopflos” found a new home in 2009 - at the edge of the pavement at Casinoplatz.

What is the message being sent by this work of art on the roadside? A warning to keep your head as you cross the street? Or does the sculpture simply reflect the “mindless” politics of the 80s? One thing is certain: the bronze sculpture does attract attention and fascination.
