Alpinum Schatzalp, the two-hectare Alpine Garden, is located in a multifaceted landscape with diverse types of forests, a wild mountain brook, alpine pastures, rocks and spring swamps. The historic Hotel Schatzalp, which was opened in 1900 as a luxury sanatorium, is part of this garden world.

The actual Alpine Garden is located at the rear of the Schatzalp area. A well-marked circular route leads through it. Each plant has a name plate listing its most important characteristics and providing information for interested visitors and botany buffs. Seminars and guided tours leading to medicinal plants - and to dedicated, gentle gardeners - round out the informative experience.
