The concept of the Via Ferrata came about in Italy and was largely developed in this country. A variant of rock climbing, it involves following a route through the rocks, equipped with a double-length safety rope.

Theme and discovery trails – There is an interesting hike leading visitors from Les Diablerets aerial cable car station (designed by Mario Botta) to the legendary "Quille du Diable", a rock shaped like a giant thumb that stands out from amongst the Valaisan Alps.

This walk through the mountains is unique, taking you through several different types of countryside.

Quille du Diable: Glacier des Diablerets

Top 100 Excursions – The modern large volume gondola cable railway runs at an altitude of almost 3000 metres straight into the futuristic mountain station, and on the glacier there is a small amusement park.
