PostFinance Arena

The completely reconstructed Bernese PostFinance Arena has already achieved cult status on the ice hockey scene. It is home to SC Bern, the top Swiss club, and a venue for big ice hockey shows – on the ice and next to the ice. The stadium moreover hosted the 2009 Ice Hockey World Championships.

With a spectator capacity of 17,000 seats, the PostFinance Arena – the largest ice stadium in Switzerland and one of the largest halls in Europe – attracts numerous visitors to Bern.

Prison Tower

The Käfigturm was the city's second western gateway. The tower was built between 1256 and 1344, served as a prison between 1641 and 1643 and retained that function until 1897. The clock was installed in 1691.

Kubus

The layout comprises a 1200 m2 exhibition hall with an accessible roof terrace, a storage floor and office space for the "Bernisches Historisches Museum", as well as offices and a library with reading room for the city archives. The exhibition hall is sunk into the ground and the space on the roof is accessible from the park and from the entrance hall. Towards the back, the office building is enclosed in a castellated way. Steps lead up to the roof of the exhibition hall.

This extension to the "Bernisches Historisches Museum" (Historical Museum) is sure to amaze with its exhibition hall sunk into the ground and its significant extension programme.
