The Romanesque Scherzligen Church is set on the banks of the Aare where the river flows out of Lake Thun. The church is located adjacent to Schadau Park with Schadau Castle. 2012 marks the church’s 1,250th anniversary.
The Stadtkirche Thun is the city’s main Reformed church. The church, which dominates the Old Town of Thun, is defined by its striking medieval tower and the spacious baroque aisle.
Each year, the Thun Art Museum hosts five temporary exhibitions that are mainly devoted to contemporary art. In addition to thematic and monographic special exhibitions, one collection exhibition is organised each year.
The Town Hall Square is the historic centre of the city of Thun and is named after the town hall built in 1500. This is one of the historic buildings surrounding the square and gives it its historic charm.
