The time keeper

Other visits/ activities – He is said to be the most important man in Bern, for all the clocks in the city follow his lead - the timekeeper of the Zytglogge. Every day, while making his rounds, he manually winds up the medieval clockwork of Bern's "Zytglogge" ("time clock"), the measure of all things having to do with time. Anyone interested can accompany him on his tour and can not only listen to a lot of exciting information about the history of time measurement and about this clock, which is the emblem of the City of Bern, but also help wind it.

Kornhauskeller Bern

Typical restaurants – The Kornhaus, or granary, is considered a major work from the Bernese high baroque period. The top three storeys were originally used to store grain, while vats of wines from tithes and domains were stacked in the cellar. Today the Kornhauskeller – a restaurant in the cellar - ranks among the most magnificent dining rooms in Switzerland.

The Kornhauskeller is truly unique, remarkable on account of both its size and splendor.
