ICOMOS Award - "Historic Restaurant 2011"
Restaurant Harmonie received the ICOMOS Award "for its attentive care for a historic structure and its accurate restoration work, thus ensuring the preservation of the atmospheric character of the long-standing restaurant in the Old Town."

Steeped in tradition, with a unique character and atmosphere, Harmonie is one of Bern's oldest restaurants in the heart of the Old Town.

The restaurant with a fantastic view of the Bernese Old Town is situated next to the Bear Pit. You can observe with your own eyes how Tram Beer is brewed from hops and malt in the copper brewery in the middle of the restaurant.

The Cinématte offers a unique combination of restaurant, bar and cinema under one roof and enjoys an idyllic location on the river Aare.

Schwellenmätteli

Restaurant Terrasse
The spacious outdoor area stretches out above the river, providing an arresting view of the Parliament Building and the Cathedral against the backdrop of the Old Town. The fish dishes and afternoon coffee and cake are highly recommended.

Ristorante Casa
At the edge of a gravel courtyard, a romantic garden frames the Ristorante Casa, a half-timbered house listed on the historic register. It once served as a sauna house and is now an ideal venue for casual Italian dining.

Event Lounge
With its large wall of windows, the Lounge looks out upon the currents of the Aare and the tree-lined gravel courtyard. The building is remarkably long, having once served as a bowling alley. It's a popular place among night owls.

The Schwellenmätteli – composed of the Terrasse, Casa and Event Lounge – lies right along the banks of the Aare and seems like its own island.

Toboggan fun on the Gurten

In winter too, the Gurten is a very worthwhile excursion destination for the whole family. 1,200 metres of toboggan runs offer fantastic snow experiences.
