In August of 2003, Mozart’s opera “The Abduction from the Seraglio” was performed in Hallwyl Castle as one of Canton Aargau’s ten cantonal jubilee projects.
Thun’s lake stage has been in existence since 2003. Already with its first five productions, "Evita", "Anatevka" (“Fiddler on the Roof”), "Miss Saigon", "Elisabeth" and "Les Misérables", the Lake Thun Festival has established itself in Switzerland and in the neighboring countries.
In 2001, an open-air opera was performed for the first time in the incomparable atmosphere of Haldenstein Castle. The initiative came from Marcus Bosch, the artistic director, who has meanwhile made a name for himself on the international stage.
Since 1985 Werdenberg has been transforming itself regularly into Europe’s smallest festival city. The courtyard of Werdenberg Castle offers a uniquely intimate atmosphere for musical theater.
