Sights – At 9000 hectares, the second largest area of moorland in Switzerland. It extends from the Beatenberg in the canton of Bern to far into the Entlebuch region in the canton of Lucerne. The landscape is dominated by the contrast between the gently rolling moors and the precipitous limestone peaks (Hohgant, Schrattenfluh). Good starting points for visiting the area are Sörenberg, Habkern/Lombachalp or Kemmeribodenbad.
Restaurants / Beherbergung – Come for a meal at 1560 m. Sale of local produce (alpine cheese, butter, ricotta etc.); special menus available in the restaurant on request. Good company, open every day from 11:00 hrs until sunset. The Lombach Alp is one of Switzerland's largest, most impressive areas of moorland. Shuttle bus from Habkern in high summer and winter; cross-country skiing and snow-shoe walking in winter.
