The Rhine Falls is Europe's largest waterfall and a truly impressive spectacle. For it is here that the waters of the Rhine, at that point 150 m wide, plunge down a 23-m-high drop. A boat trip to the rock at the centre of the falls is invariably an unforgettable experience. The more intrepid visitors are even welcome to climb it!
The Matterhorn-Gotthardbahn from Disentis to Zermatt takes you through a very varied and extremely interesting corner of Switzerland. The Glacier Express – also known as the "world's slowest express train" – also runs along this line, providing a link between the resorts of St.Moritz and Zermatt.
