Heiliggeistkirche (Holy Spirit Church)

Architecture – The Heiliggeistkirche was built by Niklaus Schiltknecht, the town's master mason, and inaugurated in 1729. It is located on the site of what was previously known as the hospital church. The Heiliggeistkirche is considered to be the most beautiful Protestant baroque church in Switzerland. Richly furnished, the interior is dominated by fourteen freestanding sandstone columns and the pulpit in the northern part of the nave.

Clock Tower (Zytglogge)

Architecture – The Zytglogge (Clock Tower) was the city's first West Gate (1191 - 1256). The artistic astronomical calendar clock and the figure movement were created in 1530. These functioned as the city's main clock. Each day many visitors admire the hourly chimes and procession of the figures. Today the Zytglogge is one of the most important and most beautiful sights of Bern.

Bern’s unique cityscape – distinguished by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1983 – is shaped by the city’s cosmopolitan charm.
