From July 14 - 18, Dan Patitucci and his team will cross the Swiss Alps from West to East on road bikes. Beginning in Chamonix, France, the route traverses Switzerland via eleven major passes before it finishes atop the mighty Passo Stelvio on the Italian border.
Round and round it goes, the "Rotair" revolving aerial cable car, which brings visitors from midstation Stand to the Klein Titile (3020 m.a.s.l.).
Close to the Italian border, in Switzerland's southernmost corner, you will find Mendrisiotto. Most people know this region only from passing through it. Industrial buildings line the thunderous Autobahn. Gently rolling hills, partly wooded, partly dotted with vineyards, extend a few kilometers westward.
