Andermatt - Urserntal

Top winter resorts – "Of all the places I know, this is the dearest and most interesting to me", declared Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, when he travelled through the Ursern valley three times in 1779. The Ursern valley (canton Uri) at the foot of the Gotthard Pass is one of the most impressive upland valleys in Switzerland. Andermatt (1440 m), the largest of the three villages in the valley, is at the crossroads of the mountain passes from north to south and from east to west.

Culinary activities – Thurgau, the cyclist's holiday paradise on Lake Constance

To the south of Lake Constance, nestling between the lake and the foothills of the Swiss Alps, there is a charming green landscape with many rivers running through it - the canton of Thurgau. This region characterised by snug farming villages, the occasional little castle, peaceful woods, numerous orchards and vineyards and Lake Constance has a very natural feel and seems to be waiting to be explored. Several villages and towns with historic buildings provide visitors with an opportunity to gain insights into the area's past.
