A monument to cheese: more than 3,000 wheels, including historic rarities, have been gathered here at the Gstaad cheese grotto.
The snappiest piste in or near Gstaad is located on the Wasserngrat. Marked in black, the Tiger Run is the region’s steepest slope and has a huge average gradient of 45 degrees. When reaching the end of the run, skiers are in no doubt as to where their thighs are located.
The mountain walk from the Jaunpass over the Hundsrügg to the Rellerligrat peak is one of the classic high-altitude routes in the Bernese Oberland, offering both colourful alpine meadows and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Your gaze is drawn irresistibly to the chain of peaks including the Gastlosen, the Sattelspitzen, the impressive Wandfluh and the Zuckerspitz.
