There are regions, where everything is just perfect: the landscape, the villages, the individual houses, the gardens. This is what you will enjoy when you go on the hiking trip from Oberwil to Erlenbach in Simmental valley. The hiking trail leads past magnificent farmhouses that are artistic masterpieces of carpentry.
Next to the panorama restaurant at the summit, there is a 70-m-long tunnel leading through solid rock into a "grotto" in the north wall. From the two look-out windows There – the so-called "Stockhorn Augen" or Stockhorn Eyes – you can see down to Thun and Lake Thun and into the Mittelland beyond.
Stockhorn, which has a height of 2,190 meters, is the highest peak of the Stockhorn Range. The mountain consists of a nearly vertical slab of rock, so that it appears either wide or pointed, depending on your perspective. The region is the starting point for numerous summer activities.
