Uri - temptation since 1291. This much-loved holiday destination on the Gotthard massif has a lot to offer. From the mild southern shores of Lake Urner and the picturesque villages - often under preservation order - or the romantically wild valleys, to the idyllic mountain lakes and the gleaming snow fields of the majestic mountains, many of them over 3,000 m high.
Toggenburg follows the course of the Thur River in an almost 50-kilometer arc from its origins between the mighty Säntis Massif and peaks of the Churfirsten up to the town of Wil. Many creative events and offerings attract visitors in summer to the lush green hiking region and in winter to the familiar winter sports areas.
The idyllic Münster Valley is its own little world beyond the Ofen Pass. With lush green meadows and beautiful villages, it offers a contrast to the pristine nature of the nearby National Park. A visit to the valley is a must for culture lovers because of the frescoes at the monastery of St. Johann, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
