Charlie Chaplin

A lot of famous personalities have lived at the Swiss Riviera. Charlie Chaplin and his family lived for many years in their discreet residence above Vevey, the “Manoir de Ban”. Sir Charles and his wife, Lady Oona, lie and rest today in the cemetery of Corsier. A statue has been established to his honour, at the shores of the lake in Vevey, facing the lake.

Charlie Chaplin, actor, screenwriter and film producer, and the famous tramp in the film "Modern Times", lived in the Manoir de Ban in Vevey. A statue by the lake commemorates the 25 years he spent here.

By Train across the Vineyards

The beautiful vineyards of the Lavaux region may be comfortably explored aboard the blue and yellow “Train des vignes” (vineyard train). This special train evolves high above Lake Geneva and winds its way across the lush green vineyards up to the village of Puidoux-Chexbres.
