Saane

The Saane is not one of the very large rivers in Switzerland, but it offers a great variety of experiences and adventure potential. The river, here sometimes called “Rösti ditch”, is the dividing line between the German-speaking and French-speaking parts of Switzerland.

Through the Areuse Gorge

Wherever the waters of the Jura tried to carve their way through the pleats of the Jura, gorges were created. And so it is with the Gorges de l'Areuse.

Wherever the waters of the Jura tried to carve their way from the Jura folds into the Mittelland, deep gorges were carved out. The Areuse stream thunders through one of these gorges. This sometimes challenging trail affords plunging views into the natural spectacle. Even on hot summer days, a cool breeze blows.
