Nowhere else can such views be found. This ridge walk from Monte Lema to Monte Tamaro is a classic amongst the Swiss high altitude hikes. The panoramic view is unbeatable and reaches from Valle Levantina over the surrounding valleys up into the Pennine Alps in the west and the Grisons Alps in the east.
The network of trails around Zermatt runs rather high into the mountains. Yet they are all quickly conquered - cable cars carry hikers up to an altitude of 3000 metres in the blink of an eye. Or to Blauherd, where one of the most beautiful tours of the region starts at an altitude of 2500 metres.
